QDEVU® Multimedia Filter Quartz Sand/Activated Carbon/Manganese Sand

QDEVU series Multimedia Filtration (MF) plants are designed to treat ground water, surface water, tertiary treated effluent, storm water or wastewater with <30 mg/L of total suspended solids.

Standard filtration media includes Quartz Sand(Q.S.) Media for suspended solids removal, Activated Carbon(A.C.) Media for removal of organics, colour, odour or chlorine and Manganese Sand(M.S.) Media for dissolved iron and manganese. Additional filtration media, such as calcite for hardness correction and various ion exchange resins, are available on request.

Additional pre-filtration and post-filtration treatment steps may be added as required to suit feed water conditions and/or treated water quality requirements.

The QDEVU MF plants are available as skid mounted or containerized systems.

FEATURE

• Quartz Sand Filter: Fill quartz sand in the filter container. Using the interception, precipitation, inertia and adsorption of quartz sand to reduce the content of suspended solids in water,some bacteria and viruses are also been removed toghther with the suspension. Mainly used for turbidity removal of water treatment, water softening and pretreatment of pure water in preceding stages and outflow turbidity can be below 3 NTU. The filter is mainly used for reverse osmosis, electrodialysis, ion exchange as well as softening and demineralization system pretreatment and can also be used as coarse filtration of industry water supply with undemanding water quality, circulating cooling water, reuse water treatment of wastewater and recycled water, etc. 
• Activated Carbon Filter: Fill activated carbon in the filter container. The physical adsorption of activated carbon is used to remove organic matter, colloids and some heavy metal ions in water, as well as the color material in the water.  At the same time, activated carbon can effectively reduce residual chlorine in tap water.Activated carbon filter is used for the removal of color, taste, residual chlorine and organics its main mode of action is adsorption. Activated carbon is an artificial sorbent. Activated carbon has developed pore structure and huge specific surface area, so it has a strong adsorption capacity for the dissolved organics in the water, such as benzene and phenolic compounds, and has better removal efficiency for organic pollutants which are hard to be removed by biological and chemical methods, such as chroma, stench, surfactants, synthetic detergents and dyes, etc. It can be used as pretreatment of ion exchange, electrodialysis and reverse osmosis in pure water technology so as to remove organics, colloids and residual chlorine; it can be also used as an advanced treatment mean after the secondary treatment to ensure the quality of reusewater.
• Manganese Sand Filter:Fill manganese sand in the filter as the filter medium, mainly used in the water with high content of iron and manganese.
